Los Angeles
Date Established: June 1960
The beginning of the Los Angeles Church started in the homes of two sets of families that relocated to LA from Japan. They opened up their homes to conduct Morning Services. In 1958, the church was officially registered as a religious corporation in the State of California. In 1960, a minister who was appointed from Japan enshrined the church Omitama. Then in 1965 and 1971, Glendale Church and Torrance Church were established respectively. In 2009, the two churches were combined, and officially named “Los Angeles Church.” A new church building was built at the Torrance location, and continues to serve the members in Central and Southern California today.
Church Activities: “PL Thanksgiving Service” held on the 21st of every month, Sunday Services, other church services and ceremonies (please see link for detailed schedule and information), Mochi Pounding Event, among other activities.
